ABA Announces Teleconference on Food Liability Litigation

The American Bar Association (ABA) Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section's Toxic Torts & Environmental Law Committee will host a teleconference on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. EST.

The teleconference, "An Overview of Food Liability Litigation, Regulation & Legislation: What You Need to Know About the Industry, the Law and the Food You Eat," will discuss the issue of food litigation and why it has become more prominent in recent years.  The importance of these issues to corporate defendants and how food litigation differs from other types of litigation will also be discussed.  Speakers will share the increasing legal and regulatory risks associated with making "health claims" and "green claims" about food products.  Practitioners will also share strategies for defending a food litigation lawsuit.
