Despite the rain, the enthusiasm remains as high as ever at the 56th Annual Wisconsin Farm Technology Days farm show. The event started on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Coordinators have been pleased with the start, reports the Wisconsin Ag Connection. This year’s show features over 700 displays. Governor Doyle was on hand to discuss agricultural issues facing Wisconsin farmers, the state budget, his recent meeting with United States Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, as well as greet visitors. Farm Tech Days is being hosted on the Crave Brothers Farm north of Waterloo, WI in Dodge County. The event is a showcase for the latest and greatest in agriculture technology, such as alternative energy technologies like digesters that convert animal waste into energy. Though, as Bob Meyer, writing for Brownfield Ag News, noted, the dairy crisis is the topic on everyone’s mind at this year’s event. Meyer reports this was the topic of discussion when Governor Doyle met with Secretary Vilsack in La Crosse, WI. Today’s opening is delayed until 11am due to rain. However, rain or shine, this is one event that won’t be short on enthusiasm.
