The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is adopting, as a
final rule, without change, an interim rule that decreased the assessment rate
established for the Spearmint Oil Administrative Committee for the 2014-2015
and following marketing years from $0.10 to $0.09 per pound of spearmint oil
handled.
The committee locally administers the marketing order, which
regulates the handling of spearmint oil produced in the Far West; the interim
rule allows them to reduce their financial reserve while still providing funds
to cover program expenses.
The rule is in effect July 28, 2014.
