While overall crop conditions remain stable, some regions are experiencing difficult times with their corn and soybean crops. This, according to Jeff Caldwell’s reporting in Agriculture Online. To read Caldwell’s article click here.According the report released by the United States Deparment of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistical Service (NASS), soybeans are 18% behind in blooming progress compared to last year, while corn is experiencing a 23% silking decline. Despite this drop, 67% of the soybean crop and 71% of the corn crop are still in good to excellent condition. Crops located in the corn-belt are doing well and if weather conditions cooperate this year’s yield has the chance to surpass last-years in the corn belt states.
