Timely Food Policy Council Conference Upcoming

Given all the news and action in Congress and by the administration, it is worth noting that the Community Food Security Coalition’s 13th Annual Conference is going to take place October 10-13, 2009 in Des Moines, Iowa. The event is entitled: From Commodity to Community: Food Politics and Projects in the Heartland.

The conference is both a networking and educational event for those interested in the nation’s food systems. Attendees will include non-profit advocates, farmers, local food advocates, sustainable businesses, and consumers. The focus is to change and improve the nation’s food system.

Several dates are approaching that are relevant for those wanting to attend. Early registration ends on August 21st. Scholarship applications are due August 31st. Additionally, presentation application deadlines are before the end of August. More information can be obtained by clicking here.
