GMA 2010 Food Claims and Litigation Conference Scheduled

Those practioners who cover or specialize in litigation over food claims may want to consider attending the Grocery Manufacturers Association’s (GMA) 2010 Food Claims and Litigation Conference. The Conference will be from February 23-25, 2010 at Barton Creek in Austin, Texas.

Here is a summary of the conference from the website:
The challenges and opportunities of defending food and consumer product liability cases have never been greater. Consumers expect the products they use and the food they eat to be safe. To maintain a high level of consumer confidence, food, beverage and consumer product companies, restaurants, retailers and distributors must aggressively resist unfounded product liability litigation and do so in a cost-effective manner. GMA’s 2010 Food Claims and Litigation Conference will provide up-to-the-minute information on the industry’s most critical legal and regulatory concerns. The robust conference agenda focuses on practical, “how-to” litigation management strategies and it is the only industry event exclusively dedicated to food and consumer product litigation management for [a variety of topics].
The conference will provide attendees with an in depth examination of the up-to-date information regarding food litigation. Topic areas will include food borne illness litigation, product liability, bankruptcy information, emerging trends in food litigation, mass tort, flavoring litigation, and trends in global food litigation. “Nationally recognized authorities from the food, legal, and scientific communities will present these issues in a thought-provoking environment.”

Early registration is encouraged both for a hotel discount and because space for the conference is limited. Some states will allow MCLE credits for attending.
