Oklahoma to Host Wind Energy Conference

According to the Southwest Farm Press, Oklahoma is getting ready to host Revolution, the 2009 Oklahoma Wind Energy Conference. The Conference is scheduled for December 2 and 3, 2009. The location will be the Cox Convention Center, Oklahoma City.

“Building on last year’s highly successful inaugural conference, this year’s Revolution promises to be even more exciting, with nationally known experts discussing the hottest topics related to the advancement of wind development in Oklahoma.”

The conference aims to promote symposiums and discussions during seminars about the potential for wind energy growth state-wide and throughout America. Discussion will cover, finance, landowner issues, policy, infrastructure, and other key issues, including: Updates on America’s energy resources; Transmission and distribution; Environmental and wildlife issues; Landowner perspectives; Wind energy economics; Updates on state and federal policy and legislation; Oklahoma’s education programs; and Views of complementary energy industries.

Robert Wegener, Oklahoma Secretary of Energy, notes that Oklahoma is an ideal setting for developing more efficient wind energy. “Wind is the 21st century complement to our existing energy industry.”

The conference invites all interested stakeholders to the table to voice their opinion and hear the opinions of others.
