Dr. Milo Shult Appointed to National Agricultural Advisory Board

Dr. Milo J. Shult, Vice President for Agriculture for the University of Arkansas's Division of Agriculture has been appointed to the National Agricultural Research, Extension, Education and Economics (NAREEE) Advisory Board, according to a press release from Senator Blanche Lincoln's office.

The Board "advises the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and land-grant colleges and universities on top national priorities and policies for food and agricultural research, education, extension and economics."

Lincoln celebrated Dr. Shult's appointment, saying that his "expertise now puts him in an important position to provide recommendations and guidance to the U.S. Department of Agriculture as it shapes national agricultural policy."

Dr. Shult said, "It's truly an honor to be selected to serve on the NAREEE Board representing the 1862 Land Grant Institutions...The diversity of interests represented by the Board membership provides a perfect forum to discuss current and emerging issues on all aspects of agriculture. These inputs will help USDA direct resources to programs in research, extension, education and economics to improve the quality of life for all Americans."
