Two webinars scheduled early next month will help members of the Grocery Manufacters Association adjust to "the rapidly changing landscape of food safety law" and a proposed rule affecting nutrition facts labels that is expected soon from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).Starting at 1p.m. Eastern time on Nov. 2, the 2011 Food Litigation Webinar: Focus on Food Safety Law is a three-hour presentation on regulatory changes under the recently passed Food Safety Modernization Act and recent trends in litigation against the industry. According to the GMA, "this webinar will help in-house counsel and litigation managers for manufacturers, restaurants, retailers, and distributors in the industry protect their brands."
The second webinar starts at 1 p.m. Eastern on Nov. 3 and will last two hours. The Get Smart: What's Coming in Nutrition Labeling webinar will explain what FDA is expected to require in its nutrition rulemaking, which would effect all food labels.
