GMA will offer Food Safety and Labeling Webinars

Two webinars scheduled early next month will help members of the Grocery Manufacters Association adjust to "the rapidly changing landscape of food safety law" and a proposed rule affecting nutrition facts labels that is expected soon from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Starting at 1p.m. Eastern time on Nov. 2, the 2011 Food Litigation Webinar: Focus on Food Safety Law is a three-hour presentation on regulatory changes under the recently passed Food Safety Modernization Act and recent trends in litigation against the industry. According to the GMA, "this webinar will help in-house counsel and litigation managers for manufacturers, restaurants, retailers, and distributors in the industry protect their brands."

The second webinar starts at 1 p.m. Eastern on Nov. 3 and will last two hours. The Get Smart: What's Coming in Nutrition Labeling webinar will explain what FDA is expected to require in its nutrition rulemaking, which would effect all food labels.
