Voluntary versus Mandatory Animal ID, healthcare reform, climate change legislation, food safety, and other issues are on the minds of cattlemen in America as they gather for their annual summer conference taking place in Denver, CO.
While all the issues have some relationship to cattle production, the National Cattleman’s Beef Association (NCBA) Executive Director for Legislative Affairs Collin Woodall anticipates animal identification will get plenty of discussion following the conclusion of USDA Secretary Vilsack’s listening tour on the issue.
