Michigan House Approves Farm Animal Care Standards


Yesterday by a vote of 87-20, the Michigan House of Representatives passed a bill designed to avert a ballot initiative by the Humane Society, similar to Prop 2 in California. The bill if signed by the governor would phase out confining and tethering of farm animals over the next ten years. Click here for the story by the Associated Press in the Miami Herald.
