Food Policy Conference To Be Held In Portland

"Food Policy, from Neighborhood to Nation" is the theme for the Community Food Security Coalition on Food Policy Conference to be held in Portland, Oregon, May 19-21. The conference will be held at the Double Tree Hotel.

The conference will emphasize several goals, which include exchanging information with local officials, allowing individuals to network and increase communication, lending credibility to local food policy, and discovering local policies that could be implemented on the federal level.

Various workshops as well as field trips to local growers and other Portland attractions will be highlights of the conference. Anyone interested in local food policy is invited to attend, including elected officials, government staff, food policy organizers, community food advocates, and academics. The coalition has more information about the conference available on both Facebook and Twitter.
